R.I.P. Bill Hubbard, our friend and long time RDRC member...

I will miss Bill. He was the only member that I could remember from the old days in 1970 when I was first a member of RD-RC. He will be missed. - Glenn Grigg

I made some calls today about Bills membership etc. Turns out, Bill has been a member of RDRC from 1968!!! They were indeed flying at the old field behind the Armory. Bill learned to fly on a single stick, rudder only plane. Bill was a member of RDRC for 42 years!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wowww,,,,,,,,,,, God Speed to you Bill. Hope to see you in Heavens Hobby Shop some day. ;) - Larry Lewis

I'm very new to North Carolina and even newer to flying. I sat and talked with Bill for hours. It was always my pleasure. Bill was trying to teach me how to fly.I will miss him very much. - Ken Cleary

We have lost a good friend and a true RC hobbyist - Steve Schmidt

Bill was the first person to approach me and my girlfriend our first time to visit the field. He introduced us to many members making our way from person to person. His outgoing and friendly demeanor made us feel right at home and very comfortable. He took time and expressed genuine interest in getting to know us and helping me become a member. One could always expect a smile and laughter when Bill was around. He will be missed. - Jeff Morgan

We've lost another good friend to the club and great man - Jason Jarvis

I still remember a day 30 or more years ago when he test flew my first stick built trainer for me. An exciting day that stuck for me. I think it was at the Dead end of Green Road off capital blvd - David Grubb

I knew Bill Hubbard when I started flying at RDRC in the early 1980's. Bill was always ready to offer good advise, show us new things and help out in any way he could. He always put out his hand to shake yours whenever he met you, either on the field, at an event or wherever you were. Even when he was a bit angry, he always had a smile on his face. He will be missed by all of us. Fair winds and following seas, Bill..... - Dick Pettit
