Legal Notice and Warranty & Refund Policies

No merchandise sold by Scootworks, Inc. is certified or intended by Scootworks to be DOT approved or approved by any local authority for use on public roads or highways. The use of any of these items could affect or void your manufacturers warranty.

Any modification or alteration to any motorcycle beyond the manufacturers original specifications may increase the risk of damage, injury or accident and the customer accepts the responsibility of making these modifications of their own free will.

Scootworks makes and you receive no other implied warranty regarding products purchased from Scootworks. Since we have no control over how or by what methods our products are installed, used or maintained, Scootworks shall not be held responsible for damages to personal property or injury due to the use of these products.

Scootworks shall not be held responsible for incidental damage or any associated costs resulting from the installation, use or removal of our products, inconvenience or loss of use of the vehicle or accessory on which it is installed, customer negligence, carelessness or any other circumstances beyond our control.

Any estimates of installation times or other associated costs that may be mentioned on our website, by our customer service representatives or installation instruction manuals are for informational purposes only. The actual installation times or costs that the customer might incur to install or use these products may vary. The customer assumes all responsibility for any associated costs that might arise from the installation, maintenance or use of these products.

The customer, by the act of installing, using or otherwise accepting this merchandise acknowledges the liabilities associated with the installation and use of the merchandise and hereby releases Scootworks from any and all liabilities pertaining to the installation and use of these products. If the customer does not fully agree with the terms as described herein, their only recourse is to return the unopened and unused merchandise for a refund.

Scootworks, Inc. warrants the workmanship of all materials sold, and that said items will be free of workmanship defects for a period of twelve (12) months from the date of purchase. This twelve- (12) month warranty period excludes:

  • The belt that is provided with the belt drive conversion kits. The belt is warranted to be free of defects at the time of purchase only.
  • Chrome and polished billet aluminum parts which may sometimes have small surface micro-scratches due to the polishing process.
  • Blemishes, chips, tears, rips or other cosmetic defects to leather, vinyl, plated or painted parts due to normal use and wear or caused by rocks, gravel, chemicals, solvents or other road hazards.
  • Damage to the product due to improper use, installation, maintenance, road hazards, or by motor vehicle accident. Failure to follow installation instructions will void the warranty.

This warranty applies only to the original customer of record with Scootworks, and is non-transferable. Proof of purchase is required.

Our refund and return policy is very simple…. Read the items below, and follow them as directed. This will ensure that you receive the best customer service possible.

Defective Manufacturing/ Incorrect Part
Scootworks will provide a full refund or exchange of merchandise for products that are received by the customer in a defective condition due to manufacturing or if the incorrect part was shipped to you. Upon receipt, inspect your merchandise thoroughly for any defects BEFORE you install it on your motorcycle! Merchandise that shows evidence of installation will NOT receive a refund. Chrome and billet parts will sometimes have micro-scratches from the polishing process, these are not considered to be defects. The customer MUST provide written contact with Scootworks via email ( or fax (919-269-0977) within 48 hours of receipt of incorrect or damaged goods to exercise this refund policy and for further instructions. You should also contact us by phone at (919) 269-0986 to alert us of the problem.

Damage in Shipping
If the shipping container appeared to be damaged causing damage to your merchandise, you should retain all packaging cartons and packing materials, take photos if possible and MUST file a claim with the carrier immediately. Scootworks is NOT responsible for shipping damage. You should contact us by phone at (919) 269-0986 within 48 hours of receipt of goods to alert us of the problem so that we can help assist you with your claim.

Reasons Other Than Defective Manufacturing/ Incorrect Part
Any item returned for refund or exchange must be returned within 10 business days as you received it from Scootworks; unused, in the original packaging and in NEW condition. Any modifications, alterations, damage, or evidence of installation will void any refund. Merchandise returned for reasons other than defective manufacturing will be subject to a 25% restocking fee. There are no exceptions! Be sure to properly repack your merchandise carefully before returning it. Merchandise that is improperly packed for return shipping and is damaged in shipping will not be accepted for any refund. We cannot re-sell damaged or used goods. You should purchase insurance for any packages you return for your own protection.

Absolutely NO refunds or exchanges for special order items!

Follow these simple steps to return merchandise… Failure to follow to these steps will cause delays or prevent us from issuing a refund.

  1. Contact Scootworks at (919) 269-0986 to receive authorization to return merchandise. On approval, our sales associates will provide you with a Return Authorization Number (RAN).
  2. Pack your merchandise securely with proper packaging materials and shipping container to prevent any damage during shipment. You should include all original packaging contents.
  3. Include a copy of your sales receipt or invoice, along with a detailed written explanation of why the item is being returned (include details of damage if any). Write the RAN on the documentation inside the package.
  4. Write the RAN number on the outside of the package so that it is clearly visible.
  5. Fill out the shipping label below, cut on the dotted line and attach it securely to your package with clear tape.
  6. Ship the package to Scootworks within 10 business days with postage prepaid. We will NOT accept C.O.D. packages.

If you meet the above criteria according to our policies, Scootworks will issue a refund (less any restocking, shipping/handling fees, etc.) within 5 business days after receipt and satisfactory inspection of the returned parts. Please note that credit transactions between banks usually take 3-5 business days after we issue a refund.
