--NEW-- ScootWorks Motorcycle Sales
After 13 years of business, we've
decided to open a motorcycle showroom to showcase our custom builds, custom constructions for sale, and customer
consignment sales. We've sold bikes for us and our customers from Maryland to Florida via the internet over the years,
with very good success. Our website gets 20,000+ hits/day, so our products and bikes get a lot of exposure. Local customers
have been asking for us to handle the sales of their bikes, but we never had the space to accommodate them, along with everything else we do. We've now added a spacious 2700 sq. ft. showroom for this very purpose!
If you have a bike you want to have Scootworks help sell, give us a call at (919)269-0986 x2 and ask for 'Eagle' or
email eagle@scootworks.com . You'll find our rates very reasonable. Additionally, if you are too far away to sell your
bike in our showroom, call at (919)269-0986 x2 and ask for 'Dave' or email dave@scootworks.com to get a listing on our
internet 'Bikes for Sale' area to broaden your exposure to a global level.
All ‘Bikes For Sale’ will be listed on our site, promoted in our advertisements, listed in our Scootworks News Letters that
currently reach over 42,000 subscribers, posted on all of oursecondary sites (FaceBook, Twitter, Myspace, and Blogspot),
and available for local viewing with the assistance of our Scootworks Service Department staff.

Old No.7 - A Vulcan 1500 Powered Jack Daniel's Tribute Bike
This bike is loaded with cool, one-off parts, that make it a true show-bike...yet is is built to ride. We put over 400
miles on it in raw metal to shake out any bugs, and built in many neat and unique facets. Despite it's custom wiring
harness, any tech can pull out the factory Kawasaki VN1500 wiring schematic and troubleshoot any possible problem that
might arise, an issue that can be quite a pain on many undocumented custom bikes.
Here's a few of the bullet points on this ride:
Paint: Custom Dupont colors laid down by Jon @ Scootworks
Front Fender Sugar: Ed's custom pinstriping
Engine: Kawasaki 88" (1500cc)
Frame: We started with a Carolina Customs Frame...
Saddle Height: 21"
Length: 9' (!!)
Rake: 42 degrees in frame, additional 6 degrees in trees. Trail is 4", and you can drive this bike with one hand. It
handles as easily as any typical cruiser due to the corrected trail in the trilple trees. Important stuff in a
chopper!
- FIRST, please realize this is a metric bike. Almost nothing about it is "off
the shelf" and "bolt-on"... not even the frame. Very little exists in this
industry to allow for a metric build like this except for a few select engines.
Most every part of this bike has been fabricated, modified, or chopped. The rear
wheel was even "sectioned" something you've probably never seen on a motorcycle.
- Carolina customs frame, up 4" & out 6" in the head. 42 deg rake w/6 deg trees
to correct trail. Modified to raise spine to accommodate the much taller
Kawasaki engine, lowered seat, siamesed rear LH frame clip to match RH drive
offset in frame to accommodate rear differential on LH side, chopped all mounts
and fab'd new for taller water cooled engine.
- Custom Fabricated Handlebars. Stretched & widened tank panels. Modified front
& rear fender blanks
- Remote radiator and forced air cooling system with aux coolant reservoirs
- Custom stretched intake w/remote carb and water heated intake to eliminate
icing
- Custom offset shaft drive w/driveline braking system (stops shaft instead of
rear wheel)
- Electrics hidden in RH tank panel (battery, computer, fuse box, relays, etc.)
- Modified & sectioned rear wheel required for shaft clearance and differential
interface. We essentially sliced both sides of the rim off just inside of the
clencher, removed 10mm per side, and reassembled it. We build wheels, but we
already had this one on hand and decided to take on the challenge.
- Suicide kickstand...mounted on RH side, closes forwards
- "SuperStart" system that diverts all power to starting engine before
activating the rest of the motorcycle's electrical system.
- Custom Exhaust, with heat wrap.
Aftermarket stuff:
- 6 degree Triple Tree - KustomWerks
- Custom Headlight - Kustomerks
- Side mount license plate mounting system - KustomWerks
- Forward Controls - Kustomerks
- 12" over front end - Kustomerks
- Tank Blanks - Kustomerks
- Fender Blanks - Kustomerks
- Front Wheel - R/C Components
- Rear Wheel - Chopped and modified R/C Components
